The Lineage House - Modern Farmhouse design by leading Indian architects
The Lineage House , Mirzapur
Ancestral Home in the Modern Era , a multigenerational country home.
Introduction
Houses have tales to tell. The walls, garden or even a broken window can transport you back to a time when a small boy hit a sixer and dashed away before anyone could see him. People breathe life into the structure and are the heart and soul of the memories they create in it.
The Lineage House is a country home situated in Mirzapur, near Varanasi. It has large, open areas that make them ideal for multigenerational families who enjoy living together as well as enjoy entertaining people.
This house is like a stepping stone to build a home for the current and coming generations where they can live their lives from childhood to old age. Making memories and growing old together in a place bonds you closely to the house and every little corner might tingle a memory of the past.
Ancestral Home in the Modern Era
In today's society, traditional village rituals have taken on a new turn. They do exist, but they have a sense of modernism and progress as time changes. The house still has spaces allotted for collaborative spaces, not only for the family but also for the villagers who they consider as part of the same community. The traditions which their ancestors used to practice have still found relevance in this urbane era.
The area outside the house has a small social gathering surrounded by greens which is a great way to enjoy the outdoors with your loved ones. Such spaces not only are considered as collaborative spaces, but also result in an interrelationship between the indoor and outdoor.
A granary which has an image of a temporary structure with lots of dirt around clouds our opinion on how the spaces would look and feel. To the contrary, having a calm and clean space near the entrance as a granary serves our purpose as well as looks aesthetically appealing.
Legacy
It makes no difference what you do as long as you improve something from its original state without detracting from its natural character. Each generation adds to the values and ethics build up their ancestors. Lineage House aims to be that house where people feel at home and generations have memories to cherish. As rightly said by Frank Gehry, “Architecture should speak of its time and place, but yearn for timelessness.”
Such country homes are constructed with a long term in mind. They are not only for the current generation, but also for future generations, serving not only as houses but also as centres for responsible land stewardship.
The Villa
The house is grand yet bestows a welcoming feeling. Large structures resonate opulence and impart the impression of magnificence.
The home lends itself to the surrounding environment by merging the outdoor to the indoor built environment. Colonial eclectic modern style sets a mood of the whole space as a tranquil and serene country home which brings together a large joint family under one roof.
The house's classical style produces a very simple yet elegant sense, which reflects the owners' humble personality. The color tones used in the house are very minimal and the greys and white with clean lines create an impression of celebrating the ordinary. Often in life, we get so lost that we forget about little things that are taking us closer to our goal on a daily basis. This kind of architecture is a way to help you find calm in the chaos.
A serene and clean atmosphere is created through the use of grey, white, black, and flashes of green. The use of a range of textures complements each other. Modern country houses are distinguished by huge glass windows. The outside flows into the house, while the inside is open to the outside. This implies a desire for a higher level of connection with nature. You become involved in the landscape rather than managing it.
The pavement creates a strong contrast between the building and ground. The building grabs our focus due to the color combination and high contrast.
Conclusion
It is vital to never forget your roots that keep you grounded and humble. To be in a space which you can call yours that connects you deeper to your values and ethics is something to hold onto!

Spanish hacienda-style casa that feels authentic yet modern
A weekend retreat away from the city to unwind, refresh and rest. Spanish hacienda-style casa that feels authentic yet modern.
INTRODUCTION
Urban life can be hectic, taxing and drains you out completely. The tall buildings, the same 9-to-5 hamster wheel, the power a man imposes on nature is so prominent in day to day life that it can make you feel submerged.
REST, REGROUP AND REACESS
It is vital to unplug from the hustle bustle of the city once in a while to reconnect with nature. Essentially, practice mindfulness on a daily basis to help you stay grounded. Regardless of our social environments, a connection to the natural world provides equilibrium and embodies a sense of belonging. This is one of the simplest methods to take care of you. The need to go back to your roots, spend time in nature can actually make you feel rejuvenated.

THE FARMHOUSE
The use of natural, unrefined materials reconnects us to our roots. The house combines rustic interiors with Spanish Hacienda Style. Natural wood and stone are used to bring nature into the home, blending it with the visible landscape through the use of large glass.
Large buildings made of steel, glass, and other man-made materials monopolize the city life. These materials demonstrate man's strong dominance over nature. Natural materials, on the other hand, remind us of the primitive times when early man relied on these materials to create shelter.
Earthy materials and tones give the space a sophisticated elegance. The elements combined create a homely atmosphere with a sense of warmth.
Exposed wooden beams are just one eye-catching feature in the living room, which creates a truly one-of-a-kind experience. The living room has large windows with doors that completely open to provide an open indoor/outdoor feel while overlooking the stunning scenery.
The walls of the house are kept plain to drive the focus to the stone cladding as well as the wooden ceiling. The wood imparts a cozy and warm vibe to the whole space.
Asymmetrical facades, stucco walls, tile roofs, rounded windows and doorways, and rooms that open onto courtyards or patios are few features which set this weekend retreat an abode away from the city where you can just unwind and relax is a perfect weekend getaway that can fuel you up for the next week.
The interior design of the whole house is tied with the amalgamation of the thought to create a discrete environment from the city and keep the earthy and welcoming appeal to it as well.
Villa Hacienda creates a significant change to transition from an urban, contemporary residence to nearly 12000 square feet large property.
CONCLUSION
Taking a break from daily life gives you space, and interrupting the daily cycle can restore not only your physical but also your mental energy levels. Daily stress can reduce creativity and cloud our judgement, inferring that we are not working to our full potential. Being stuck, whether at work or in your routine, can have negative consequences; however, taking a break allows you to return revitalized and with new ideas.
Sometimes in life it is vital to take a break from the busy urban life to rest, reorganize and refocus!

The choice of color of the walls is kept subtle which helps to reinforce the fact that the area is for relaxing. The delicate and soft pastels feel soothing and remind one of childhood when everything was soft and comforting. To keep the child alive within you, one must find small things that remind them of how uncomplicated and relaxing life was.
The various sloping roofs in the design make it easier for the building to merge with the landscape near the site. The connection that a sloping roof builds with the ground is much closer and directs the focus towards the roots and foundation where we all come from- the soil.
To connect the public areas with the private outdoor areas of the building, an interesting and stylish architectural element known as the archways are incorporated. The archways are stone cladded and draw the user’s attention to give emphasis and distinguish the space from the rest of the area. Arched passages look extraordinary in passages and sections which can be moderately gloomy and boring spaces.
The building has a combination of large and small windows on all the facades. The small windows prevent direct sunlight from warming the space too much in areas where a little cool breeze would elevate the mood and setting. There are spindles added around the small windows which are used to decorate and give an added aesthetic appeal to the windows. There are large windows that are incorporated to overlook the private open spaces and welcome a large part of sunlight into the interior spaces.
There is a central green courtyard embodied outside the main living room that creates a great view as well as makes the whole experience of spending time indoors interesting. Such a courtyard is also an element to connect the outdoor and indoor space wisely.
The wall lamps add an antique and vintage twist to the whole building. The ornamentation around the arch helps decorate and beautify it. It is shaped organically to break the monotony of the whole vertical and horizontal lines. The creepers which are included in the elevations of the building emphasize the natural flow of growing. The growth of these plants demonstrates the coherent manner in which nature exists.
The whole theme of the building is based around the Spanish Hacienda Style which elevates and distinguishes the experience of living in the city. The architecture used in the elevation design creates a different mood and tone of the experience the building has to offer.
A functional and simple yet aesthetic space is what you can call your abode which brings you tranquility and serves as a break from the stress we experience in day-to-day life.
